Hi! I’m a yoga teacher based in London
… but born in beautiful Devon!
I started my yoga journey in 2011 with tight hamstrings and an inability to sit still, but the years have shown me yoga has much more to offer than stretchy legs. I started my training in Ashtanga and Vinyasa in India, followed by Yin training, Breathwork and Prayanma, and multiple courses with spectacular teachers such as Alexandria Crow, mainly focusing on sustainability and accessibility.
I experienced meditation before I experienced any other aspect of yoga. Whilst studying Social Science for my BSc, I was fortunate enough to study the link between psychology and Buddhism – and bam, my first meditation experience.
Before I even stepped foot in a yoga class, I studied and practiced meditation as part of my Social Science BSc. I did not know then how thankful I’d come to be later in life. I realised how powerful meditation can be as a tool for studying the mind and kicked off my intrigue into the wider world of yoga.
Yoga and I have had a bumpy relationship. Other than doing a few yoga shapes with mum in my teens, I came out of my first yoga-studio class feeling very unable and just did not enjoy. The postures were too hard – I felt I needed to be ‘good’ at yoga and got caught up in aesthetics. I fell into the trap of thinking I needed to be good in order to gain anything, so then I became ‘good’ but soon realised I was continuously chasing something. I had no idea there were deeper layers to yoga and that there are many reasons to practice – yoga is a very personal practice.
How I teach…
I’m passionate about making yoga inclusive and diverse.
My approach to teaching is rooted in the understanding that every person’s body, experience, and circumstances are unique, whether it’s their anatomy, work-life, or personal situation. I know people come to yoga for all kinds of reasons, and those reasons often evolve, so I aim to create a space where everyone feels welcome and empowered to practice in a way that suits them best.
In my classes, there’s no pressure to achieve a particular pose. Whether you’re doing something simple or more complex, all postures are equally valid. I’ll always offer gentle encouragement, but I’ll never push beyond what feels right for you—you’ll always have the freedom to follow your own pace. My role is to support and facilitate, not just to instruct – and hopefully make it fun and interesting at times!
I also believe it’s essential to continue learning and growing as a facilitator. I’m constantly deepening my knowledge, whether that’s through studying anatomy, philosophy, or other aspects of the vast world of yoga. You’ll usually find me either taking a course or with a yoga book close at hand!
My typical Classes
Vinyasa Flow / Dynamic
This practice is more on the stronger and playful side, allowing you to explore fun variations of traditional asanas (poses). No need to be ‘advanced’ though—I offer different options throughout to suit you on the day! Try it out, you’ll see!
Slow Flow / Restore
These practices are slow and gentle, often beginning with meditation, followed by playful movements that invite exploration of the body. They may also include more fluid standing postures. This approach offers a wonderful opportunity to tune into the body
Yang to Yin / Yin
The 'Yang' aspect of the practice is Vinyasa/Flow, while Yin yoga is a slow, posture-held meditation with poses typically held for 2-5 minutes. These longer holds can target the deep connective tissues. Most poses are seated or lying down, encouraging you to explore the stillness. Together, they create a perfect balance!
